PROJECT OVERVIEW

PROJECT OVERVIEW

MobiWire’s feature phones suffered from outdated layouts and poor usability, reducing customer engagement.

As Lead UX/UI Designer, I led the redesign of MyOS — a modern, lightweight operating system built to enhance visual appeal and usability while respecting strict hardware limits.

Goal: Deliver a smartphone-like experience that feels familiar, seamless, and visually cohesive.

CONTEXTE

CONTEXTE

Feature phones remain vital in many markets but often lag behind in UX maturity.
MobiWire’s OS had inconsistent layouts, confusing navigation, and outdated visuals.

Our challenge:

  • Modernize the OS within limited display and memory capacities.

  • Build a unified design system for scalability.

  • Reinforce MobiWire’s identity through refined, minimal design.

DISCOVER

DISCOVER

We conducted a full audit and user feedback review.
Findings revealed:

  • Poor navigation logic and weak hierarchy.

  • Low readability and inconsistent icons.

  • Inefficient layout patterns.

Benchmarking modern smartphone UIs inspired a simpler and more dynamic design approach.

DEFINE

DEFINE

We restructured the system architecture to improve task flow and feature discoverability.
UX goals focused on:

  • Simplified navigation.

  • Consistent visual hierarchy.

  • Scalable design framework.

This stage also redefined naming conventions and content grouping to streamline usage.

IDEATE

IDEATE

We developed low- to high-fidelity prototypes exploring optimized layouts and visual rhythm.

Key decisions:

  • Unified spacing and alignment grid.

  • Minimal color transitions for better focus.

  • Gradient accents to introduce visual depth within low-spec constraints.

MOODBOARD

CONCEPTUALIZE

CONCEPTUALIZE

A design system was created covering:

  • Iconography built on geometric consistency.

  • High-contrast color palette for clarity.

  • Modern, legible typography.

The gradient style became a visual signature, inspired by trend and market analysis.

INTEGRATE

Close collaboration with developers ensured accurate implementation. I led the creation of UI documentation and conducted design–dev syncs for validation and iteration. Our agile workflow allowed efficient updates and precise alignment between design and build.

DELIVER

DELIVER

The new MyOS redefined MobiWire’s feature phone experience — clean, cohesive, and intuitive.
It now aligns with modern UI expectations and strengthens the product’s overall brand perception.

PROJECT INSIGHT

This project showcased the power of design systems, cross-team collaboration, and constraint-driven creativity. Our joint effort transformed a limited system into a refined user experience. I’m grateful to the MobiWire team in China — their dedication turned a complex redesign into a successful, scalable product.
